Discover the beauty of a timeless and barrier-free road!
Welcome to Piedmont along the Via Francigena! Here, everything is accessible to everyone: you can experience culture, nature, sport, food, and wine along one of Piedmont's historic paths, which originated over a thousand years ago.
We wanted to make two stages of the Piedmontese Via Francigena route as accessible as possible to people with physical, motor, cognitive, intellectual, and sensory disabilities, as well as the elderly and their families, with rest areas and multisensory panels.
For 365 days a year, it will be possible anyone to explore 20 Romanesque churches and other accessible cultural heritage sites located along the Via Francigena in Piedmont, thanks to the app “Chiese a porte aperte” (Churches with Open Doors), the only system in Italy that allows visitors to use their smartphone and a QR Code to automatically book, open and listen to narration about cultural places.
And, of course, everyone can stay at our accommodation facilities.
