Water sports

Although Piemonte is not bathed by the sea ... the region offers so many proposals to practice sailing and windsurfing, water skiing and wakeboarding on rivers and on lakes, and we speak of Lake Maggiore and Orta, Lake Viverone and Lake of Avigliana, in the province of Torino, as well as the Lake of Ceresole Reale, where enjoy windsurfing at 1582 meters. Canyoning, hydrospeed, rafting or kayak in wild and pristine natural environments? High Valsesia and Cuneo province are perfect, while in Canavese, at the gates of Torino, you can use your blade in the powerful waters of the Dora Baltea. Renamed the "Colorado of Europe", the river hosted the World Canoe Championships into the natural Canoe Stadium of Ivrea, a great training ground not only for the Italian National Team, but also for rowers coming from abroad. Moreover, rowing has a long and important tradition in Piemonte, in particular in Torino, with prestigious rowing clubs on the Po river's banks, that gave a strong contribution to the development of this sport activity throughout Italy from the second half of the XIX century.
