The Alba-based SportABILI association offers people with any type of disability (motor, sensory and intellectual) the opportunity to practice sports and enjoy accessible tourist experiences, providing the necessary aids in suitably equipped facilities. These sports include skiing, which is practised at the Limone Piemonte Quota 1400 ski resort.
Accessibility and usability
Individual lessons are held by specialised ski instructors who, thanks to the use of specific equipment, truly provide the thrills of the snow and speeding downhill, to everyone, without limits.
The association provides aids suitable for all types of disabilities:
- monoski (indicated for those with limitations only in the lower limbs)
- biski and dualski (indicated for those with lower and upper limb limitations and cognitive disabilities);
- downhill stabilisers (indicated for amputees);
- robot (indicated for the blind);
- kartski (indicated for those with balance difficulties).
SportABILI Alba also gives students with disabilities the opportunity to participate, together with their class, in skiing days and weeks, organised by the schools at the Limone Piemonte Quota 1400 ski facilities, guaranteeing the presence of the team of instructors and volunteers.
